As the days get shorter here in North America and we celebrate this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month, it gives me an opportunity to reflect on the experiences from the past few months. This summer, we made the decision to appoint Jackeline Velez as the Director of the US Hispanic Market. This is an exciting decision for us, as it allows Xero to provide resources for our partners who serve the Hispanic community like never before. As one of the fastest growing business segments in the US, Hispanic businesses are eager to embrace the digital transformation to improve the lives of their families and local communities.

But first, a little bit of background

As the Federal Budget approaches, small businesses are looking to the Government to introduce further measures that support the sector’s rebuild. At the top of their list is new business incentive schemes, with nearly one in three businesses (29%) hoping that’s what the budget will deliver.

We recently surveyed more than 500 Australian small businesses and nearly one third of respondents said they wanted the Federal Budget to include measures that provide support for young entrepreneurs to grow their network and experience, while more than one in five want research and development tax incentives for small business.
