My favorite aspect of the Devean George's monster block last night (of the proposed Jason Kidd trade), besides picturing George in Mark Cuban's office acting like he just swatted a shot ("Aaah, mo-fo!  Get that weak sh*t OUT of here!  RETURN TO SENDER!  Come hard or don't come at all...")?  That there is a possibility Keith Van Horn might get a contract out of this, according to this ESPN article.

Basically Mark Cuban might decide, in order to complete the trade with George in it, to sign Van Horn (the Mavs still own his rights, since he hasn't officially retired yet) to a one-year deal equivalent to what the Mavs would need to make the Kidd trade match up (about $6-7 million).  How awesome would it be if that happen?  It would be like the Knicks giving Allan Houston more money, just for the hell of it.

Nets fans:  Your dreams have been answered... more Van Horn!!

Also, here's our stat of the day (courtesy of DJM, who saw this in the LA Times):  "Hey, do you know which team holds the record for best road trip of nine of more games, since neutral-site games were eliminated in 1974-1975?"

The Lakers finished 7-2 on their trip and assembled the league's best record in nine or more continuous road games since neutral-site games were eliminated in 1974-75. (The San Antonio Spurs were 8-1 in a 2003 trip but came home before it ended.)

DJM:  "That's an awfully long-winded way of saying "Yo, they had a great road trip"

But seriously... since neutral site games were eliminated (eff you, Kansas City!), the Lakers just had the best road trip ever... minimum 9 games.

Of course the Lakers and the Bulls are the only teams that even have road trips that long, but so what!

We're the Jayson Starks of the NBA, baby...

Just want to point out that Eddie Jones is also refusing a trade to the Kidd-less Nets (nobody wants to go there!):

This is making the Van Horn scenario more and more likely!
