Before we get started on the Knick updates... here's some other stuff from around the league:

According to Slam, Amare Stoudemire was unhappy after the Suns lost at home to the Hornets on Saturday, and in fact, skipped practice yesterday.  Steve Kerr, the Suns' GM, said that Amare was out due "to personal reasons".

”Amare didn’t come to practice. He did have an excuse. From there, the matter will be handled internally,” Kerr said.

After the loss on Saturday, he had harsh words for the team:

“We have to get it together. We’re a veteran team,” he said. “We should know our strategies; we should know what we’re doing and do it.

He took only 11 shots in that game.  I wonder what "strategy" he was referring to?  Maybe getting him more involved, as he is the most efficient scorer on that team?

This is the second time in under a month that Amare has had a post-game interview that showed frustration after a loss.  After losing to the Lakers on Christmas Day, Amare took a shot at his teammates (and his own) efforts.

Sounds like there are some unhappy players down in Phoenix, between Amare and Shawn Marion.  If this team doesn't win the NBA Championship this season, it might be very active on the trade scene after the season.

And speaking of acting the fools... the Boston Celtics have apparently picked up some Boston-like douchebaggery qualities.  Check this article from the Free Press on the Celtics behavior after beating the Pistons:

The Celtics made quite a show of their win, with Paul Pierce yelling that the Celtics are the best team in the league, with several Celtics "popping" their jerseys, and, according to an ESPN.com report, with forward James Posey yelling to courtside fans, "Thanks for coming" and a mocking "Deeeee-troit basketball."

In the Pistons' locker room, that display was met with some smirks.

"They're acting like they won the title," forward Amir Johnson said.

Point guard Chauncey Billups took it one step further.

"They're a little more happy than I know we were when we won our game out there," Billups said. "It was just like a regular game for us with two good teams playing. They were kind of playing like it's the Super Bowl, man.

"It's just a regular game with two good teams playing. There was probably a little more at stake for them and their psyche than there was for us. But they won. It's cool."

Great.  I'm waiting for the Simmons article explaining how the Celtics are acting like douchebags as an "eff you" to the rest of the NBA for dismissing the Celtics for benefiting from McHale's bogus trade or something.

In the meanwhile, someone should tell the Celtics that the Pistons are the team to beat, especially since they have the defense to lock up both Pierce and Allen on the perimeter.  And Garnett... well, the next playoff win Garnett leads a team to will be his first.  I'm old enough to remember watching Garnett in the playoffs with the Wolves, deferring to other players in the 4th quarter, even when he had good shots.  Looking like Chris Webber in that regard.

KG is a great player (and perhaps the MVP this year), but I don't see how that Celtics can get past a motivated Pistons team.  So maybe motivating the Pistons ain't the move, chief....

Scottie Doesn't Know:
Here's a post from Ball In Europe (and a YouTube clip) on Scottie Pippen, who is playing a series of games for a Finnish team overseas, at age 42 (found via the Fanhouse).

East Coast Bias had an interesting post about the new American Gladiators, and in particular Wolf.  ECB found photographic proof that Wolf bared an uncanny resemblance to... Ben Stiller in Dodgeball.

Okay, quick post coming up on the Knicks, and what their choices are going forth.

The C's are definitely believing their own hype. They're coached by a guy who's never won a playoff series, and their three superstars haven't sniffed a Finals appearance. I'm officially back to hating Boston. Feels good. Feels right.
