Here's how the Knicks' defense let the Bobcats drop 67 points on them (that's 134 point pace, or something the Warriors and Suns might be impressed by) in the first half of yesterday's Bobcat win over the Knicks:

1st Quarter:
1. Okafor, inside, brick against Randolph.  The Bobcats were able to pass the ball around the perimeter and inside to Okafor pretty easily (Felton to Richardson to Wallace to Okafor).

2.  Missed layup on drive by Jason Richardson (around Fred Jones) - Okafor picks up offensive rebound under basket, dunks it in.  2-2.

3.  Backdoor cut, Felton beats Crawford (pass by Nazr Mohammed).  Nice 40% effort on the defense, Jamal.  4-4.

4.  Felton steal (strips Crawford), breakaway dunk.  6-4.

5.  Gerald Wallace drives past Quentin Richardson, is stripped by Richardson, but right into hands of Okafor for a dunk.  8-4.

6.  Jason Richardon to Nazr on pick and roll (Curry doubled, stayed with Jason Richardson).  10-4.

7.  Wallace wide open (off pick), missed three.

8.  Okafor misses a baseline jumper.

9.  Felton to Wallace to Richardson, turns it over (good defense, Knicks).

10.  Wallace misses layup on drive, but Okafor tips it in.  12-8.

11.  Baseline jumper Nazr... misses.

12.  Missed jumper, but Nazr gets the offensive rebound, dunks it in.  14-13.

Knicks go to soft zone.  They are doing okay so far, defensively, but are allowing too many offensive rebounds and dunks to this point.

13.  Wallace baseline jumper is good (Randolph late arriving due to pick).  16-15.

14.  Wallace airball, Nazr "rebounds" it, misses putback (two Knicks defenders with hands up on him, so he couldn't elevate straight up).  Good defense, Knicks.

15.  Wallace to open Richardson for three.  Q-Rich too late arriving to defend, no excuse.  19-20.

16.  Felton in transition to Richardson, for three (Jones late on getting there this time).  22-20.

17.  Felton in transition to open Wallace, misses long jumper.   Quick tempo.

18.  Entry pass inside to posting Wallace knocked away by Q-Rich, but Wallace grabs it out of the air, then drives to basket for layup.  24-20.  Tough break.

19.  Okafor twice tries to post on Randolph, can't, so kicks it back out to Wallace.  Wallace tries to drive, misses layup, but Hollins tips it in.  26-20

20.McGuiness, inside to Okafor for a layup.  Lee and Randolph screwed up the assignment, doubling the driving McGuiness, freeing up Okafor under the basket.  28-22

21. Wallace posts Richardson... nothing... out to Carroll for a three.  Miss.

22.  Hollins, nice entry pass lobbed over Randolph, below Richardson, to Okafor.  Okafor for the layup.  30-22.  That was a nice pass that never should be allowed by the defense.

23.  Wallace posts up Q. Richardson, gets fouled.  Hits both.  32-24.

24.  Wallace fouled before crossing half court by Crawford, who attempted to draw a charge.  34-24.

25.   Half court shot at buzzer misses.  34 points in the 1st for the Bobcats (shooting 52%).

The Knicks do okay offensively - 24 points is decent, but the Bobcats scored way too much.  The open threes hurt the Knicks (the three pointer is suppose to be a hard shot to hit, right?), as did the offensive rebounds under the basket.  Box out?

2nd Quarter:

1.  Carroll misses a jumper from deep in the corner.

2.  Lee gets stolen, it's a four on one.  Nate Robinson breaks up the pass (a soft lob... alway pass quickly in a fast break, not soft), knocks it out of bound.

3.  Dudley knocks down a 18-foot jumper.  36-24.

4.   McGuiness to wide open Carroll;  Balkman a little late getting there, but Carroll misses.  Offensive rebound to Bobcats... Knicks twice strip it, so Jason Richardson forces it up with clock running down.  It misses, but again an offensive rebound for the Bobcats...Carroll reloads, Balkman again late, and... three is good this time.  39-24.

5.  Carroll again in the corner... Balkman was better this time, but hand was still not in Carroll's face.  42-26.

6.  Jason Richardson three... no good on Jeffries.  He's long enough to get his hand in his face.  Note to Knicks:  If playing zone, make sure you have Jeffries on the perimeter.

7.  Jumper misses (Balkman gets hand in face of whoever shot it).

8.  McGuiness in transition, hits free throw line jumper.  44-29.

9.  Jason Richardson gets a nice pass from Wallace on the cut, draws the foul.  Hits 1/2.  45-31.

10.  McGuiness a little move on Lee.  He doesn't go for it, and the jumper is short.  Good D, Lee.

11. Richardson drives, gets stripped, gets it back... Wallace drives, gets fouled.  2/2 FTs, 47-31.

12.  Mohammad tries to throw it inside, gets deflected.  Knicks get to the ball.  Good defense.

13.  Better man to man defense.  Even is tight.  Nazr turnaround jumper on Curry, but not terrible defense.  Good shot, Nazr.  49-31.

14.  Wallace lean in on Quentin Richardson (tries to draw charge, no call)... goes in.  51-33.

15.  Wallace freed on pick (Quentin Richardson gets picked by Malik Rose's man), hits jumper.  53-34.

16.  Felton draws the defense with a drive, Quentin Richardson goes to help, Felton kicks to Wallace for open three.  56-36.

17.  Felton in transition draws Rose and Fred Jones, leaving Okafor open under basket for dunk.  58-36

18.  Jason Richardson gets open because of a pick on Q. Richardson by Hollins.  60-36.

19.  Felton drives, is cut off, kicks it out to Wallace, who finds the cutting Jason Richardson.  Richardson is fouled.  1/2 FT 61-39.

20.  Felton to Wallace for three.  Jeffries too late to get hand in his face.  64-42.

21.  Felton grabs rebound in corner with 7 seconds left.  He pushes it up all the way to the free throw line, finds Jason Richardson in the corner for a wide open three with one second left.  67-44.

That's way too many open three-pointers in the first half.  The Knicks perimeter defense is actually worse than their interior defense.
