Interesting take from D-Wil of Sports On My Mind on a play that occurred during the Cavs-Knicks game that I hadn't initially noticed:
"In the Associated Press game article written by Brian Mahoney, Brown is blamed for walking into James when it was clear that James, as he approached Brown took a step to the right and two steps later bumps Brown. The coach was so astonished he failed to react for a second and then turned quickly and shot a look back in James’ direction.
This incident would have been fully addressed in the postgame press conference if it was any other player. Any other coach would have talked with James about the incident after the game."
The play in question took place during a timeout at the 8:49 mark of the fourth quarter, with the struggling Knicks blowing away LeBron's Cavs at the Garden. It appeared to the result of a frustration with the reffing in the game, and perhaps Mike Brown's barking at LeBron immediately after a bad call. While Brown was yelling, Nate Robinson beat the entire Cavs team back for an easy layup.
Here is the longer sequence (35 second) of the play leading up to the bump:
************
Quick link: A somewhat honest and balanced look at Stephon Marbury and Isiah Thomas, in the Village Voice, from a few weeks ago. The author, Tom Kertes, honestly admits that Isiah Thomas was screwed in his task to rebuild the Knicks, and so had to take changes on risky players; he also does a good job analyzing the history that Stephon Marbury has had of pissing off teammates, and how that may have happened again this season. A decent read, so go check it out....

And here's the shorter replay of just the bump, where we see that LeBron doesn't really seem to see Mike Brown coming until the last second. And doesn't seem to care, either, as he still plowed right into him.
It's an interesting discussion topic, so I'll leave you guys to it. My take on it: LeBron should have gotten a technical for it; in fact, if it was Rasheed, he would have been ejected!
