Just random thoughts from the fantasy hoops crew over the past week.
*********
On Yao Ming's ill missed free throw (on purpose) with 1.4 seconds left against the Lakers, down three.  Yao immediately rebounded the miss, and tossed a perfect pass to Rafer Alston for an attempt at a game-tying three:

SML:  That was freaking impressive.
DJM:  If he can miss free throws on purpose like that, he should do it all the time.  They would never be able to stop him, and it would be an extra possession for the Rockets.

SML:  Too bad Rafer missed the three.
DJM:  As soon as I saw it was Rafer shooting the three, I was so relieved.  I turned the game off before the ball hit the rim.  IT'S RAFER ALSTON.
SML:  Hey, he shoots like 30% from the field.  Shane Battier would have hit the three.
DJM:  I CAN PLAY.
*********
EW trades Grant Hill (his boy!) for Kevin Durant.

SML:  Wow, I cannot believe you gave up your boy Grant Hill.
RR:  I can't believe you got something for him!
EW:  Grant Hill is solid, come on.
SML:  I would take 10 games, or whatever Grant Hill will give you before his next injury, over Kevin Durant.
SML:  Trading Kevin Durant!  That's addition by subtraction for the other team.
SML:  This is a graph of Kevin Durant's effect on your fantasy team's FG%
It sort of matches the graph of Grant Hills career, too...DJM:  He does, however, have a tremendous effect on your turnovers.
SML:  I'm gonna go ahead and predict that Kevin Durant will be the most traded player in our league this year.
DJM:  Might I suggest you go ahead and pick up Rafer Alston, since FG% obviously is not a concern to you.
SML:  And Gilbert Arenas, since turnovers are apparently also of no consequence.
************
On Chris Kaman, in general:

RR:  He's my steal of the draft.
SML:  Dropping like 20/10 a night.  He's a monster.
RR:  He's even got one or two moves now in the low post.
SML:  You just need to be careful, man.  I would sell high on Kaman... he's gonna get busted on some Chris Anderson type sh*t.  You know Kaman has to be on Meth or something.

This is your center. This is your center on drugs. Any questions?
EW:  That dude is ugly.
RR:  Yo, I was watching the Clippers game the other night, and they had the split screen photo of Kaman and one of the Geico cavemen.
The missing link... Okay, it got old, but I did enjoy these ads for a while...
SML: That's so f*cked up!
RR:  And one of the announcers is like "Yeah, just clean him (Kaman) up, give him a shave and a nice haircut, put him in a suit... he'll be a good looking man.

RR: And the other announcer says nothing for like 10 seconds.  Nothing.  Just silence.  Finally, he's like: "I wouldn't go that far."

SML:  Damn.  Like he wouldn't go that far as to call Kaman a "possibly" good looking guy.
RR:  And these are the Clipper announcers!

EW:  Chris Kaman is one scary looking guy.  I mean, if I saw him walking in the woods or something, and I was by myself, I would be genuinely scared.  Like really scared.
RR:  Is he Canadian?  Because I really think he's Sasquatch.
SML:  He's part Yeti.
RR:  Seriously.  He's tall, hairy, and scary.  I think they just found him in the woods in the Northwest.
SML:  Chris Kaman leanred how to play basketball from posting up Harry from "Harry and the Henderson"

SML:  Seriously, there was a basketball rim in the middle of the woods, and that's where they found Chris Kaman.

RR: You know they have keep him on a tight leash when he's in Portland and Seattle.  He might run away back into the woods or something...

EW:  And Chris Kaman better not go to West Virginia.  They'll shoot him down there if they see him.
SML:  His head will end up on someone's mantle.
*************
I apologize for the Chris Kaman jokes.  They are a bit too much.  And yes, I would rather have a Yeti playing center for the Knicks then Eddy Curry.  The Yetis rebound better.

All words are either SML, DJM, Rapping Rod, or E-Wonder, so blame/credit to all.

Marks (used to watch him at Cal), Eric P, and now Kaman. Why not finish up this 5 man white boy team and get some 101 on Conor Henry, and say, Tim Legler.

One Sunday womens timberland boots morning, I was told that someone was waiting for me in timberland 6 boots office. The young person who answered the rectory timberland boots door said that it was "the woman who said she left all the notes." When I saw her mens timberland boots I was shocked, since I immediately recognized her from church but had no timberland boots outlet idea that it was she who wrote the notes. She was sitting in a chair in timberland roll top boots office with her hands folded in her lap. Her head was bowed and when she raised white timberland boots it to look at me, she could barely smile without pain. Her face was disfigured, and timberland classic boat skin so tight from surgical procedures that smiling or laughing was very difficult for her timberland kids waterproof boots . She had suffered terribly from treatment to remove the growths timberland shoes that had so marred her face. We chatted for a while that Sunday morning and agreed to meet for timberland womens premium boots lunch later that week. As it turned out we went to lunch several timberland boots women times, and she always wore a hat during the meal. I think that treatments of some timberland shoe company sort had caused a lot of her hair to fall out. We shared things about our lives. I told her about my women timberland shoes schooling and growing up. She told me that she had worked for timberland 6 inch years for an insurance company. She never mentioned family, and I did not ask. I have thought about her timberland mens custom often over the years and how she struggled in a society that places an incredible premium on looks, class, wealth and all the other fineries of life. She suffered from a disfigurement that cannot be made to look attractive. I know that her condition black timberland boots hurt her deeply. http://www.timberland6inch.com/
