Combing You Tube as I do, and found this interesting video of Sparty, the Michigan St. mascot.  It's a 3:00 clip that is a compilation of what must be hundreds of video clips, as you see Sparty at games, on campus, and just in general mascot mayhem:

I like mascots obviously, but there is a strange affinity for Sparty.  My high school, despite being located in the Bronx, had two team names (I believe).  One was the Spartans, the other was the Wolverines.  Now that I think about, that's kind of an odd coincidence.  We must have had alot of Michigan region people name our team.

Completely unrelated:  The Basketball Jones posted a link to a clip from the old 70's show The Incredible Hulk, to an episode in which Billy Bixby drops some acid and starts tripping, then the Hulk starts tripping.  Man did I love that show when I was a kid.  My favorite episode was when he fought the Mighty Thor in one of the several made for TV movies (NBC) that aired in the early 80's:

The Incredible Hulk.  Not a week goes by without me dropping a Hulk joke.

My favorite part of the show was the sad music at the end of the show, when David ("Bruce" was deemed too gay for the TV version of the comic) Banner is hitchhiking.  Check the Family Guy parody of it:

That little piano theme is called "The Lonely Man", appropriately enough.

I noticed that in the ending credits for The Family Guy it credits Walter Murphy for the theme song.  I know that name.  He's the guy who did the 70's disco hit song "A Fifth of Beethhoven", seen here:

Yeah, I'm really getting off track here, huh?  Um, here's Robin Thicke using a sample of "A Fifth of Beethhoven" (which obviously samples Beethhoven) for his song "When I Get You Alone".  Peep it here:

I'm sure that I've lost everyone by now, but whatever.  Blogging is the ultimate vanity project.  I'll be self-indulgent.    I don't particular care for Thicke (at least not that song), but he does get some props for giving a shotout to Uptown in his video.  Lennox Lounge is an institution.  The Apollo, Columbus Circle, Brooklyn Bridge and a few other places are also in this tribute to bike messengers.

Of course, that sample absolutely does not go with that song.  Terrible use of a sample.  Arguable among the worst of all time.

Robin's dad is, of course, Alan Thicke.  True story: Alan Thicke sung the theme song to Growing Pains.  And he composed the theme songs for Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.  Pretty illustrious resume.

I'm gonna end this post right here, before I get into a long story about my job as messenger (in a crack house).
