Yeah, add another name to the sh*t list - another blog is beefing with SML, to add to the list of: 80% of other sports bloggers, Michael Chang, David Foster Wallace's lawyer, and your mom.  All beefing with me.

Stop your whining, Canada Today's fool is a blog that complained to Jason of Ballhype because we were the #1 ranked Blue Jays blog on Ballhype, even though we hadn't posted an entry on the Jays in two months.  Their beef has merit.  I've gotten much flack from my crew here about not posting enough about the Jays, and how quickly I seemingly gave up on it.  The story is I was suppose to get a Jays blogger to write for this site, but as is often the case it never materialized.  So, yeah, I agreed that it wasn't fair to be the top Jays blogger.

Of course, we didn't appreciate that they made me seem like the bad guy or something!  They clearly stated that we were doing something wrong:

"Now, the joke of this is that these goofs decided that there weren't enough Blue Jays blogs out there, so they would fill the void, co-opting our team for their own twisted sense of magnanimity."

Well, first off, these Canucks (we won't name them or link to them, but only because they refused to link to us) are a little off.  We have no sense of magnanimity at all... I have soul (I know you have soul...we got it), but no great-heartedness.  Clearly they misuse this word.

Secondly, they misrepresent or misunderstood our reasons for being a Jays blog.  Always be weary of people who don't quote others when laying out their supposed reasoning.  It's a hallmark of a shabby, two-bit, bias writing by a non-American author.  "Yeah, I'll tell you what he's thinking..."  Nah, chief... why don't you tell me what he said, and I'll decide what he's thinking, okay?

Seriously, look at the reasons why I chose the Blue Jays (and keep in mind that when I did choose the Blue Jays, I was not a top ranked blog at all - in fact I was probably the lowest ranked Blue Jay blogger at the time), in my own words:

Why the Blue Jays?  Well, the Blogs By Fans network has most of the major teams covered already: Depressed Fan covers the Yankees, Loge 13 covers the Mets, our west coast honey Erin covers the Dodgers, and we got The Fighting Phils Fans (the dynamic duo).  We also have a Red Sox blogger joining the network soon, and possibly a Cubs blogger, too.

The Blue Jays are our sleeper pick to win the AL East.  We think this is the year they can make some noise, and when they do we will be here to say "I told ya so".  Our website features very sporadic contributions from Canadian DJM (note: Not actually a Canadian) and the Marathon Man (who went to school in Canada).  And SML's little brother's brother-in-law's brother lives in Toronto.  So you see, we're practically Canuck!

And to that end, we are also extending an open invitation to ya'll out there: If you want to contribute a piece or two on baseball for the website, drop me an e-mail.

Anyway, Ballhype removed my Jays tag.  It did so not because it is policy - it has no policy on these matters, as evidenced by the fact that there are other "Jays" blogs that have posted less on the Jays than I have - but simply because this blog requested that my tag be removed.  I told Jason that I was fine with that.

As an aside to Jason... since you are doing such a strong job with the customer service, I have a request of my own:  Can you show who is voting down a story on Ballhype?  As it stands now, you can see who has hyped your story up, but not down.   It's frustrating that there are some jerks out there who vote down every story of mine, without even reading it, simply because they are haters with a vendetta.  Don't let these cowards on the internet hide behind the curtain of anonymity.  It's childish and juvenile.

Alright, so that's my international beef.

Oh, and since I do have a reputation for being a dick to adhere to... let's have some fun with this. Two things:

Dry? I make Canada wet. 1)  I'm coming back for my title.  Don't think this is over, dunny.  I'm going to get a Blue Jays blogger, add him/her to the site, and get back my title.  As a matter of fact: If anyone out there is a Blue Jays fan, or just interested in writing about the Jays on a regular basis... drop me an e-mail: stopmikelupica@hotmail.com

2)  In the meanwhile, I'm gonna exhibit some magnanimity myself, and, like Fidel Castro passing the crown temporarily to his brother Raul, I will chose my successor.  I pick this Jays website, called Big Smoke Sports to become our successor.  I will link to their posts every single day.  They are a good site, and deserve to be recognized for their hard work (they are currently near the bottom of the rankings).  Therefore I will do my part to boost their site as much as possible, like check out this post on the irony of who gave up Barry Bonds 755th homer.  You should, too.  Give them a link or twenty over the next month. Big Smoke Sports for #1 Jays blog!

Hey Ricky, thanks for the offer! I only diss the Italians when they play Argentina in the World Cup. Otherwise they are okay with me, sports wise. Hell, I'm looking forward to seeing Marco Bellinelli in Golden State.

As for the 76ers... moving in the right direction. Just wait for Chris Webber's contract to come off the books, and hope (pray) that Billy King doesn't mess up the franchise again.

Might have been right face...
But I must have used the wrong line...

Not going to complain about adding links for us.

We just feel it's our Canadian duty to get in the middle and try to stop any kind of fighting before it happens.

Again, love the support. thanks for the hype.
