All kidding aside, via a post by the Postmen at the Fanhouse, here is Mr. Mets getting his dance on at an Indian party in Queens (stick around past the intro):
Yeah, I like how the crowd started chanting "Let's go Mets". Having been to more than a few Indian parties and weddings in my day, I can tell you for a fact that this video is a little off, because no one dances better than some Indian peeps, yo. And I'm not just talking about silly Bollywood-type dancing... they can get down to hip-hop and reggae, and bust moves that make brothas say "wow". But that is neither here nor there.
Just to add a little touch to this post, I'll tell you a quick story about the last Indian wedding I went to. It was in Long Island last summer; my "little brother" (not actually my brother) and I sneaked out of the wedding reception during the speech portion, and heading upstairs to another wedding reception in the same hall. It was the Latino wedding, too. We got our salsa on for a bit dancing at this wedding we crashed, before heading back downstairs to the Indian wedding right about when the music started. Not a particularly funny story, but that's the best I can come up with now. Unless you want to hear about the time many years ago I ended marching in the annual Indian Day Parade here in New York City (for the record, it just passed this weekend)....
Um, how about some Mr. Met dome?:
Listen, if you are still around after all this, how about I make it up to you by playing something you probably haven't heard before... many years back an Indian DJ named "Tigerstyle" put together a Bhangra version of "Billie Jean" that also combined a few other tracks (including "Ice Ice Baby") called "Nachna Onda Nei"... here is a Michael Jackson impersonator (not Mr. Met) dancing to it:
