And we Beat The Skeets!

We aren't gloating; we feel bad that the Raptors were eliminated... they are a fun, young team with a bright future.  But we are quite relieved.  I'll admit that in anticipation of the possibility of a Nets loss I had begun categorizing episodes 157-137 of The Basketball Jones podcasts (as per the bet requirements), and man am I glad I don't have to do all the episodes.

As for the game, it was a team effort from the Nets: Kidd, Carter, Jefferson, and Nachbar all had big contributions.  Ford and Calderon played big (with their injuries), and tried hard to save the Raptors' season.  Chris Bosh stepped up big in the second half, and it was a battle.  Not a fun battle, though.  If the Dallas-Golden State matchup was two fighters wildly throwing haymakers at each other while taking each other's best punches, the Raps-Nets game yesterday was two boxers jabbing at each other, with the Nets edging out a decision.  Aside from the last three minutes, it wasn't even fun to watch.

A source with insider information confirmed that Skeets was, in fact, at Game 6 yesterday in New Jersey.  And that he did, in fact, take the loss hard.  In fact, I have been able to obtain some video footage of Skeets this morning, the day after the loss:
