...literally. Because despite getting outrebounded (badly) again, 60-32, the game was there. The turnovers by the Jazz were a big factor, but in general the Warriors were doing everything they could to stay close. And then they had a big 13-1 run near the end of the 4th quarter that put them in control with less than a minute.
But we knew at some point that the Warriors were going to lose a game this way. Because they couldn't hit a free throw. Pietrus missed two big free throws that kept the Jazz in the game, and when Baron bricked his second free throw it was a two-point game with less than 10 seconds left. The Pietrus thing really bothers us, because we have no idea why he was on the court. Nellie is going to have to take some heat for this.
But then again, who could he put on the court? Biedrins came through with two big free throws near the end, but he can't be on the court at the end of a close game like this. Barnes, Richardson, Davis, Pietrus, and Biedrins are all under 70% for their careers. Harrington is barely 71%. Only Ellis (75%) and Jackson (79%) are reliable.
The Warriors Achille's Heel just cost them a huge game.
