The Knicks finished the season 33-49. The Trail Blazers finished 32-50. Thanks to the Knicks 33rd victory, and a few tie-breakers, they ended up getting the 9th ranking, which is where their pick (traded to the Bulls in the Eddy Curry trade) ended up.
However, had they ended 32-50, not only would they have jumped "ahead" of Charlotte and Sacramento in the "rankings", but they would have been tied with Portland. And, in theory, had as much a chance as the Portland did of winning the lottery. Portland did win the lottery.
Conclusion: Eddy Curry's tip-in to win the last game of the season against the Bobcats is difference between the Bulls have Oden and having the 9th pick.
Irony: The same Curry that brought the Bulls so close to Oden kept them from him.

Oh my. I hope the jokers at Blog-A-Bull don't see this.
I was in an absolutely shit-awful mood until I read this.
Yeah i wrote that same thing yesterday i think. Tough for the Bulls, but whatever.

Obviously I know it's faulty logic, I just want to make Bulls fans suffer a bit with this post....
