Today's Obituary was too easy, unfortunately. Time to put down the hopes of Washington Wizards fans, whether it was for winning the division (they fell a game behind the Heat with their loss to the Bobcats yesterday) or winning a playoff series (a first round matchup with the Raptors looms). Losing Caron Butler to a broken hand on Monday was probably the killer blow, but whatever hopes the Wizards had after that crumpled to the ground faster than Gilbert Arenas after Gerald Wallace inadvertently took out his knee. Sad... we really were looking forward to seeing Gilbert in the playoffs.

For the Nets fans out there, congrats on winning a big game against the Hawks. The Nets are acting like the only team mildly interested in making the playoffs, out of all those 7th-10th placed teams. Of course we still have our doubts about the Nets (as soon as Kristic went down for the season we lost all faith in their ability to win come the playoffs), but we are really excited at the prospect of LeBron vs. Vince Carter in the first round. Now we wouldn't even put it past the Nets to pull off the upset if that is the first round matchup. Not because they are hot or anything, but because they have enough weapons to give the Cavs a tough time. Here's some odd footage of Marcus Williams scoring a layup then brushing off Richard Jefferson from yesterday's game (I believe). I don't believe that it's a big deal or anything, I just like the "get away from me shove"... it's very Vince Carter.
