Game notes:
- The Warriors went with Biedrins in place of Harrington in the starting lineup.
- The Warriors are up 29-20 at the end of the 1st quarter. They played only the starting five in the first quarter. Final tallies: Jason Richardson had 10 pts, 4 rebound, and 2 assists. Jackson had 5 assists, and is playing the role of point quite a bit. Biedrins and Ellis both had 6 points a piece, and Baron Davis had 7.
- The Mavs were lead by Howard and Nowitzski's 8 points a piece. The rest of the team had 4. They aren't going to hang with the Warriors scoring only 20 points a quarter. Hell, they won't hang with the Rockets at that rate....
- David Stern is getting interviewed by Jim Gray! Yes, David Stern is in Oakland. We wonder if he's going to talk trash to Mark Cuban during the game....
Jim Gray: "New Sonics owner Clay Bennett has said that Las Vegas is a likely destination..."
David Stern (very definitely): "I don't think he said that."
Wow. New Sonics owner Bennett is in the doghouse already, ain't he?
- The Warrriors have twice as many points in the paint at this point than the taller Mavs.
- Jason Richardson just nailed a basket, then grabbed a board and hit a three, and he is now 7-9 on FG, for 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists... 14 minutes into the game. The score is now 38-23.
- Where have I seen Richardson blow up like this before? Oh, yeah... remember this first quarter?
- And now it is 44-27 Warriors. The fans (all dressed in yellow) are going nuts:
2005: Orange Revolution, Ukraine.
2006: Rose Revolution, Georgia.
2007: Yellow Revolution, Oakland.
- "UCLA legend Matt Barnes!" drops a three. 47-29, Warriors. The Western Conference is being overthrown!
- Harrington misses another three - he's still struggling.
- What the hell is up with Andris Biedrins skin? He is clearly rocking a self bronzer tan. My man is the same color as the basketball.
- Big bucket for Jason Terry caps a 9-0 run for Dallas, cuts lead to 49-40. This run happened with Baron Davis and Jason Richardson both on the bench resting.
- Barnes nails a shot to end the run, followed by a Josh Howard dunk. 51-42.
- Baron and Jason are back. Baron scores, then gets inside on the next possession, and misses a layup, but Harrington is there for the easy follow. 55-42.
- Nellie (according to Bill Walton): "Dirk is the second greatest player I've ever coached. Nash is number one." We agree with Don Nelson.
- Dampier just got away with a "receive" or a "self", i.e. a travelling violation where you toss an airball to yourself.
- Baron Davis finishes the half with a fantastic drive that
- Gets 2 more points
- Earns Baron a free throw for the three-point play
- Gets Dirk foul # 3
- Give the Warriors a 61-48.
Halftime numbers: Richardson has 17 pts (7-10 FG), 7 rebs, 2 assists. Jackson has 5 assists, 3 TOs, 2 steals and is playing the point way too much. Biedrins has 8 pts, 6 rebounds; Ellis has 8 pts, 2 steals. Davis has 12 points, 3 assists, no TO. Harrington has 5 points, and Barnes 7. For Dallas it is Howard 10 pts, Dirk 16, Terry 9, and Stackhouse 7. Golden State is shooting 53% FG; Dallas is shooting 37% FG.
On to the second half:
- Richardson just did it again - another great drive, gets the bucket and the foul. Hits the free throw for a 68-50 lead. Timeout Dallas
- A few minutes later: Baron Davis with another great drive to the hoop, then stares down Nowitzski.
- Steve Jackson just grabbed a board, brought the ball upcourt quickly, and found a wide open Monta Ellis under the basket in transition for a 72-54 lead. Timeout Dallas.
- A few minutes later: Pietrus with a great steal, Jason Richardson with a three. Josh Howard then gets called for a technical. GS is up 81-61. Timeout Dallas? No, Avery is done.
- And now a technical foul on Stackhouse. Guess who is losing their composure this game?
- Al Harrington is now 4-26 FG in the series after throwing up another brick.
Screw this. The score is 82-65 with 2:00 left in the 3rd quarter. Let's do the math... the most we see the Mavs scoring in 14 minutes is 40 points, which would be 105 total... 22 more points and this game is official. We're gonna call it a post. Hopefully the Warriors won't choked or anything crazy happen...
Wow, Jason Richardson and Monta Ellis just pulled off a great sequence - Ellis with a block, Richardson grabs the loose ball, but falls, knocks towards Ellis, who saves it towards Richardson on the ground, who tosses a pass while on the ground back to Ellis. Amazing.
YouTubes to come....

Nope. The only thing "crazy" happening here is the fact that the L's #1 team keeps getting demolished by some cats who barely squeezed into the playoffs.
And that David Stern is the biggest Gangster Jew since Dutch Schultz. Shid, did you see Dutch pull the Jedi Mind Trick on that fool Jim Gray on national TV?
"I can confirm that them Dust Bowl cats said they wanna go to Vegas."
"No. You can't"
"Umm. No I can't. Well, what about all the padawans who used the dark side of the force to tank for Oden?"
"Bitch, you have yet to experience the dark side of the force. [Dutch uses the force to smack Gray from across the room, like Vader did to that pitiful fool in Empire Strikes Back.] Can't you see there's a game being played here?"
"Back to you, Tirico."
I hardly ever agree with anything Dutch Stern does, but he is no doubt an FBI Most Wanted gangster AND Jedi Master!
The actual game was same ol shid. Oaktown on a Rampage with E-Double, the Mic Doc, and LL guestin. Oaktown ryhmin and stealin with Mike D, King Adrock and MCA. Oaktown raping and pillaging with Mike Tyson and... Mike Tyson. Yeah that's right, Oaktown has had their fill of Big D, they're eating Big D's children now. Big D has begat Lil D. And Lil D is suffering.
Will game 4 be more of the same? can Lil D win in that type of environment, with the crowd going bananas? What happens if/when Oaktown goes up 3-1? Are we all bearing witness to the end of last year's champs on one coast (Miami), AND last year's runners up on the other?
Or am I jumping the gun?
Great point on the rest of the Stern interview with Gray... I couldn't hear the rest of it, as we were laughing and busting on the "They didn't say that" line. David Stern can make Jim Gray wet his pants with just one word....
The Warriors have to keep their confidence without getting overconfident. They have to take game four at home, with the crowd, because after watching game two in Dallas, I don't know if the Warriors can win in Texas again. So they have to come out guns blazing in game four.
Bill Walton and crew argued that Dallas has to stop Baron Davis in order to win. I don't think that is enough... Baron didn't beat the Mavs tonight, Richardson did. And Jackson was handling the ball more than Baron. And Harrington has just to show up (props to Nellie for recognize that, and starting Biedrins - that's a coach on a mission!).
I would do a post on what Dallas has to do to beat the Warriors, but... Dallas can't do it, anyway. Basically Dallas would have to become the Rockets and Van Gundy in order to slow the Warriors down, and that's not how they are built.
As for the Heat - damn I was wrong. I'm going to have to 'fess up and give the Bulls their props.
I expected this team to win the series. I did not expect this team to bitchsmack the Mavs like that. I literally cannot wait for game 4.

Wow! What a great post! Keep it up!
