Just a follow-up to some of the general stuff I've discussed recently, before digging into the playoff previews:
On Joe Crawford: D-Wil posted a great piece over at The Starting Five - another well thought post in which a lot of research was clearly made. This one random line - "they (athletes) are too slaves of a society that preaches gratification and reward come with the first sign of promise, not after promise is fulfilled" - is just truth. Anyway, check out the comments - Joe Crawford's youngest child (24-year old Erin Crawford) chimes in with some thoughts on her father's situation. Worth reading.
Other happening stuff: The Hotness is now writing (along with a promising friend) for the Blogs By Fans network. Check out their new site Giggin On Ya. Jack Cobra is jealous of our network, yo. For the record, if you are looking for these great bloggers, just look in the upper right hand corner of my site - that's where you'll find Depressed Fan, Loge 13, Lefty Malo, The Dodgers Blues and soon you'll see TUP there, too.
On to Red Sox fans: Deadspin had the YouTube below of obnoxious Sox fans in Toronto. We point this out (and the pizza-thrower, too - we beat Deadspin to that one) because, well, it is always Sox fans, ain't it? I've never see as many obnoxious fans at a sporting event as I have with Boston fans... I mean, when I go see the Jays play at the Yankees, it's not Jays fans acting like fools. Even during the Subway series every year, Mets and Yankees fan invade each other's respective stadiums, yet it's far worse when Sox fans invade. That's all we are saying.
Okay, let's give some love to our boy Seth over at Posting and Toasting - his last game notes post on the Knicks was just completely sick, full of good info. We'll miss his activity (until next season), especially since being a Blue Jays blogger is pretty lonely (Jays fans, where are you at?). See you in November, Seth.
