Because you need to know this stuff: Daisuke Matsuzaka is a blood type O, according to today's Toronto Star.
"In Japan, blood type O is linked to a warrior-like personality, someone who is self-confident, gets the job done, passionate.
According to the New York Times this week, blood typology is a popular Japanese method to predict a person's character."
In other words, he's a giver. But not a receiver. Why is this of any importance?
"Japanese dating services include blood typology as a way to match clients, while employers consider it important when weighing out a job applicant."
On the real, in Japan your blood type can effect your employment possibilities? That's pretty effed up - I mean, isn't that employment discrimination? Where my lawyers at?
Well, we did some further research into Japanese cultural beliefs about blood types (it's their version of astrology), and here some interesting tidbits:
Type O (like Dice-K, Kazuo Matsui, Tadahito Iguchi, Kei Igawa, Hideki Matsui, and Sadaharu Oh - insert blood type Oh joke here) were originally believed to be rebellious types. Now they are associated with passionate warrior types. 60% of Japanese prime ministers have been type O. Which is impressive until you realize that 46% of the world is type O.
Type AB (like SML) tend to be serious and solitary by nature. Now you know why I hate you all. However, we are not the Nomad - that is Type B. Type AB is just The Enigma. Type O is The Hunter. Type A is The Cultivator.
One last unrelated tidbit, from a note in the same article: The Philadelphia Phillies are 34 losses away from being the first franchise ever to hit 10,000 losses. That is impressively bad.
