Today we bid farewell to the Cardinals' dreams of an easy repeat. Yeah, it's way too early to pack up the bags for the season, but Opening Day starter Chris Carpenter will miss his next start due to inflammation in his right elbow. And the team has looked sluggish, losing its first two games to the Mets this season. Not just to the Mets, but to two 41-year old pitchers in a row. Sure, Albert Pujols is the best baseball player in the majors right now, but this is not the start Cardinals fans were envisioning. Take heart, though... you still have last year's fond memories.
Okay, some other notes and then we are out until after the Knicks game tonight: First off, check out PostingandToasting for tonight's Know The Opponent - as always, great stuff. Sonofdippin' has a great post on what else Lee Humphrey can do besides hit threes. And we'll be back later tonight with some basketball notes.
