Some quick basketball-related notes:
One massive thank you to Ron Lewis for hitting a game-tying three pointer for THE Ohio State University in today's game against Xavier with 4 seconds left. That single-handedly keeps SML's NCAA pool in action for another hour, as losing OSU at this junction would have been devasting... we have them in the Finals.
Also, big up to Mike Conley Jr. for dominating the OT (scoring the first 7 points for OSU in OT, and 11 overall) and giving OSU a chance to cover the 7.5 point spread. We thank you for that effort, even though OSU came up a half-point shy of covering. Either way, we are still hangin (just barely) in the top-10 at the Battle of the Bloggers over at NBX.com.
And while we are giving love, sonofdippin has the scoop on Isiah Thomas' latest deal. Check it out.
We found that link thanks to Seth of postingandtoasting, still our favorite Knicks blog. And yes, the amount of love that's going back and forth between that blog and SML is sickening; its a good thing the basketball season is almost over, or else we might have to make it official and get married. The only question would be whether the blessed union of our websites would be called StopToasting (motto: "Attempting to put an end to the Jamaican musical form that served as the basis of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop." Alternative: CeaseChatting), or call ourselves PostingMikeLupica (motto: "Seeking to take it hard inside on the self-promoting sportswriter").
In all seriousness, if somehow the Knicks make it to the playoffs expect SML to try to set up a collaboration of some sort with the fine folks over there. They are our favorite NYC area basketball bloggers, along with El-Friends-Du-Nenad.
Yo, while watching the NCAAs at a bar during the snow yesterday SML noticed that Kevin Durant and Texas were taking on New Mexico State. New Mexico State was coached by none other than Reggie Theus! We immediately started pulling out the Hang Time jokes, expecting the Aggies to have a blonde chick running the point (Julie Connor references never get enough props!). Of course, Mailroom Ernesto topped us, reminding us that young Anthony Anderson was also on the show.
Anthony Anderson jokes galore! Kangaroo Jack! Any Jet Li/DMX collab ("What they don't know is: Jet Li/the kung-fu fighter/X the rapper/the actor/the movies/Romeo Must Die/Aaliyah's big role/they gave it another try/(uhh) the collab/Cradle to the Grave/Tom Arnold/Never forgave/(uhh) such trash/Anderson/always in these movies/playing a gunman..."). Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. King's Ransom. A cameo in The Departed. Hustle & Flow. All the Scary Movies. Played Jim Carrey's son in Me, Myself and I. Kangaroo Jack! F*ck it, mention it twice.
Mailroom Ernesto is an awful nickname. We're gonna call him "New Jack Swing" instead, since the brother does an amazing Poison (BellBivDevoe), as well as some smooth Bobby Brown ("My Prerogative"). Of course, if we start nicknaming everyone based on their karaoke songs of preference, then The Marathon Man would be "I Wanna Know What Love Is", the Race Car Driver would be "Angel In the Centerfold", and I would be Copacabana by Barry "The Hotness" Manilow.

Oh and, by the way, thatnks for all the links, but ESPECIALLY thank you for linking to me on Deadspin. That's the cash register right there. Cha-CHING.
It was related to the topic (Stars on Stars). It was a slow Saturday afternoon, but I hope you get some bling out of it....
Sweet! A link!
I started reading this site around when I started our site, and I then realized that the world can't handle two New York sports related comedic fictional dialogue centered blogs with occasional analysis on these here internets. You may be considerably better at it, and more established, but I still think we should fight to the death. Or we could stay as we are now, but that shit is fucking boring.
Nice article found your site searching in bing I think you could have taken a more neutral view.
Thank you for your great article. I also must say that your layout is a pleasure to view. Keep up the good work.
Saw your blog bookmarked on Digg.

I like StopToasting.
Can blogs get married? P&T is so young, you've gotta give him some time to play the field.
