Alright, we've got a few new entries coming at you in the next day, from our take on the Larry Brown/Isiah Thomas battle last year (complete with the warning to the 76ers/Bobcats that Knicks fans got, and ignored, much to their peril).  We've also got a special contribution from our favorite Nets blogger, who wrote us a nice response to Jacob's comments on Nets fans and the move to Brooklyn.  And we might even get around to doing a small Joe Torre post, to get us moving in the baseball season (though, to be honest, we won't pick up steam until after the NBA Finals in June).  But for now, we're gonna have some fun with the YouTube.

It all started when we heard Gheorge Muresan is still living, thanks to Deadspin.  That led to a search for our favorite Muresan moment of all time, this commercial:

Is that cabbage, Gheorge?  Yeah, chicks dig it.

Then we got obsessed with finding the Grant Hill Sprite commercial.  We found this one:

Confession time: We hated Grant Hill back in the day.  Worst of all, the only time I could beat IllWill at NBA Live'97 (career record against IllWill: 5-205) was when we had the Pistons.  They gave him trouble, despite Grant Hill's incredible suckitude in Live97.  Suckitude?  The man turned the ball over so much I always subbed him out, only to have the game try to sub him back in every two minutes.  The scrub would always find himself back on the court, leading to a quick turnover and this outburst: "F*ck!  Who let that f*cking burger back on the court!?"  Lindsay Hunter was one clutch mo-fo, though.

While searching through the Sprite commercials I found some other good ones... The Sunny Fist one:

The badass old skool hip-hop ones are now old skool, too - like the Pete Rock/CL Smooth one:

The great MC Shan versus KRS-1 battle one.  Those guys will be battling, and making money battling, well into their graves.  Never the less, these might be the best rhymes ever in a commercial prior to 2000:

Nas and AZ.  Quick AZ story - IllWill and I use to break on AZ.  He was often described as "the most 'alright' rapper of all time" - all you could ever say about him is "he's alright", as in he's got skills, but not talent.  There was always something lacking from his rapping ability... he had flow, style, but... it just never got anything more than "he's alright" from everyone we ever talked to.  Anyway, that explanation is how we got Skeets & Tas to name their NBA Mediocre Rankings after AZ

Grand Puba, proving once again that his weak, simplistic rhymes are also the catchiest... "I (uh) give a pound to my man with the right hand, because I (uh) keep the Sprite in the left hand....":

I have to throw this in there... it's a Sprite commercial (supposedly from Japan) that's for my alternative lifestyle peeps.  Beware anything that advertises "I like the Sprite in you!".  Yeah, I bet that's not all you like in me, Queenie:

One more international Sprite commercial, this one from France, though it has very little French in it:

Sadly I failed to find the commercial I was looking for, which was the Grant Hill "I'm A Cowboy" commercial.  On those rare occasions when Grant Hill actually did not turn the ball over in Live'97 (sorry, I swear I had a life back then, really I did, its just Grant Hill will forever be the embodiment of all my video game failures), I would mutter something to the effect of "I'm a Cowboy! (female singers: He's a cowboy!).

The other Sprite commercial I couldn't find was the only in which 3 basketball players are playing a rough ass game, all thugged out and sh*t.  All of the sudden the commercial stops and the actors potraying the thugs return to their thespian nature.  "Whats my motivation?" "Once again you have ruined my concentration!" and "I played Hamlet at Cambridge!"

[Note: Yes, I realize the YouTubes are missing... as soon as I figure this sh*t out tonight, I'll put them up.  In the meanwhile feel free to use the links you lazy bum.]

Man I was looking all over for that Grant Hill "Cowboy" commercial. By the time I found it on your site, Youtube had removed it. My quest continues.

It's an ugg classic cardy tall article by Tom Reese in yesterday's Pacific Northwest Magazine about the Lake Washington wetlands near Seattle's Arboretum. I actually found myself ugg boots classic cardy gray strangely upset by the article. Not only because he's describing a place I've loved for ugg boots years, but because he so carefully describes the official ugg boots contingency of the natural environment there.Reese takes the bailey ugg boots uk pied-billed grebe as his touchstone, which is a good choice.
